GSX-S K-Tech Fork Upgrade
Just installed Suzuki GSX-S revalve for my Suzuki GSX-S1000F, using the GSX-S K-tech fork Upgrade SSK piston kit.
When i got the bike new with Stock Suzuki GSXS Suspension, the forks felt good and the rear shock felt bad, I upgraded the rear to an Ohlins TTX GP that was much better but now made the front feel worse. One of my fork seals had gone and my fork was leaking so decided to re-valve with a K-Tech SSK piston kit.
K-Tech SSK piston kits are available to fit most front fork cartridge damping systems and have been designed for road and track use to give enhanced damping control over the original equipment, giving comfort and confidence to the rider. All piston kits are supplied as a complete assembly for ease of fitment, with new control valves and needles to give a more precise range of adjustment.
- Designed and manufactured in the UK
- Tighter tolerance for improved performance over original equipment parts
- Improved adjustment range
- Complete assemblies for ease of fitment
- Increase comfort and confidence
There were no fork seals available locally at the time but we discovered that Hayabusa has the same seals, (but with a different part number), so these were fitted at the same time as the GSX-S K-tech fork Upgrade

The compression valve is very easy to replace, just unscrew from the base of the cylinder and screw in a new one.

Rebound Valve is more complicated to remove – needed heat, rebound come with replacement needles as well. Then reassembly

After installation of the GSX-S K-tech fork Upgrade, I put just 500ml of Motul light weight 5 Fork oil in each leg and then test drove. I then gradually added more oil until we got the correct range of movement. This ended up at 515ml in each leg, 8ml less than Suzuki specs.
Riding experience
Awesome, with the Suzuki GSX-S revalve now I need to adjust the back to reach the standard of the front. the adjusters do so much more than standard. With the original rebound and compression clickers i couldn’t really tell much difference in the settings (I’ve heard they are like this for litigation reasons), with the K-tech 1 or 2 clicks makes a significant difference. As it is now set the ride feels a tiny bit plusher but far more controlled with no downsides. Throttle control is easier with the smoother ride, particularly with the improved throttle and reflashed ECU
