The Suzuki GSX-S comes from the GSX Series which is Suzuki’s range of sport touring motorcycles powered by four-valve per cylinder four-stroke engines. The first GSX models were introduced in 1980 and represented the next step in Suzuki’s four-stroke road bike range after the two-valve GS Series, and has now evolved in to the Suzuki GSX-S family.
If you were in your 30s and owned a sport-bike some 10 or so years ago, more than likely you or one of your friends owned Suzuki’s GSX-R1000 “K5” model from 2005. Revered among knowledgeable GSX-R fanatics, the K5 (as well as K6 and K7 models, which used an identical engine) utilized a long-stroke engine design that provided quick-revving midrange torque in addition to a top-end punch that helped the then-latest Suzuki stave off a very capable literbike field to win nearly ever comparison test it entered that year. But now, the Suzuki GSX-S arrives and you’re in your 40s, and your back and wrists aren’t as flexible as they used to be. You still want good, solid sports-bike performance, but you don’t want to have your massage therapist’s and chiropractor’s office as a second home, either. It’s for you older sports-bike enthusiasts that Suzuki has intended the all-new Suzuki GSX-S, particularly the Suzuki GSX-S1000F and GSX-S1000 for.
The Suzuki GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000f are upright, well specified sports-bikes with nearly the power and performance of the infamous GSXR1000, and the GSX-S750is related in the same way to the GSX-R750s.
The engine is an updated, retuned version of the famous Suzuki GSX-R1000 K5 engine, arguably the best sports-bike engine ever. This version produces 143bhp and 78 ft.lbs of torque.
The GSX-S1000 is powered by a street-tuned version of the four-stroke, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 999cm3 , inline-four engine that became a legend in the 2005–2008 GSX-R1000. The newly honed engine is suppose to deliver smooth throttle response and immediate, controlled acceleration, so the sport rider experiences adrenaline-rushing performance. The performance is without doubt but the GSXS Jerky throttle is unfortunately a reality.
Inherited directly from a GSX-R supersport machine, the Suzuki GSX-S750 has the powerful 749cm3 four-cylinder fuel-injected engine that is specially tuned and refined to maximize its potential on the streets and on winding roads. The Suzuki Katana is a new member of the GSX-S family for 2019. Based upon the GSX-S1000 but with a body similar in style to the original Katana of 1982.
